WHY YOU SHOULD BE BUYING MORE FROM BLACK OWNED MORE.

Black Pound Day UK was created by UK Rapper Swiss and was launched on the 27th of June 2020. It was created to boost the the UK Black economy. 

It's currently running one day per month, it encourages everyone to spend money with local and online UK Black-owned businesses. 

It is evident that there is so much that we can do when we, the Black community come together and support our own.

Here are 5 reason why you should start buying from Black Owned Businesses:

1. Black people have a lower rate of employment.

Black people had the highest unemployment rate out of all the ethnic groups in 2018 of 9%. Often employers tend not to consider putting through cv's that has a name that indicates that you're black.

2. We have so many black owned businesses

I don't know about any one else but since Black Pound Day has started, I have found out about so many Black businesses I never knew that existed.

3. A community that comes together grows together

We have all seen in our local communities here in the UK that the Jew & Asian communities have a high level of business ownership, properties and you see that they hire their own people. One of the reasons we can say that this is happening is their togetherness. Why can't the black community do the same?

4. More power

Linking with the point above, the more we invest in Black business (in anyway possible) the more power could be giving to our people. We can own more properties, give back to the black communities, gain more recognition, more respect and power from those who look down on us and more means to hire Black people.

5.  Because why not!
