4 STEPS TO FOLLOW FOR HAIR EXTENSION MAINTENANCE BEFORE INSTALL

by To All My Black Girls on June 20, 2022

Many people wonder why their hair extensions don't last long or why their skin is irritated when they install extensions. The answer is simple, often they're full of silicones, fabric dyes, unregulated acids, ammonia and you never know what else is in there.

It is VERY important to co-wash the hair before installation and also on a weekly basis to remove all the unwanted stuff, retain moisture, shine and longevity.

4 STEPS TO FOLLOW

1. Wet the hair then apply the conditioner/co-wash of your choice.

2. In small sections from end to root, detangle with a brush. Use fingers for coarse textures.

3. Rinse hair with lukewarm water and squeeze excess water. Preferably air dry the hair.

4. Apply Argan Oil while hair is damp (or any other light oil) and hang to dry naturally.

PLEASE NOTE: Do not shampoo the extensions as it strips the hairs moisture and causes them to become dry which can lead to matting.

The product we would recommend is Tresemme Salon Silk Conditioner or any sulfate-free conditioner suitable for natural hair that adds moisture.
